Blanca E. Duarte, President

Blanca E. Duarte is the founder of LogicWing, a technology consulting company focused on creating and sustaining 21st century learning environments through education and ongoing maintenance of web-based technologies in the education, non-profit and SMB sectors.

She has worked both in the private and public sectors for over 20 years. Over the last 10 years, she has worked with community leaders, business members, schools, museums, and non-profit organizations to help connect people and create engaging learning environments. Her passion lies in fostering community, building capacity, and helping learners reach their full potential. She uses technology to empower learners to communicate, create, and innovate. "Access to information, matters but it's what you do with that information that matters."

She is a member of ISTE, ASCD, NYSABE, ASSET and the LIA. She serves as board member to Variety Child Learning Center, a preschool for students with special needs, and h2Empower, an organization improving literacy and supporting sustainability through education in Ethiopia. She holds a degree in Accounting and a Masters in Educational Technology from Long Island University. She has worked as an adjunct at LIU and The New York Institute of Technology. She is also an online trainer for the Intel® Teach Elements courses.

Karen Werner, Online Course Developer / Google Apps for Education Certified Trainer

Karen Werner is an enthusiastic and self directed educator dedicated to improving student learning and academic achievement. She delivers on-site support to students, teachers, and administrators in the use of technology to support instruction, curriculum development, learning assessment, research, resource access, classroom management and assistive technology.  She conducts face to face and online professional development instruction for a wide variety of tools including course management systems, interactive whiteboard and multimedia software. She is also involved in developing online courses for professional development and has taken the NYIT Online Learning Academy course. Ms. Werner is a Google Apps for Education Certified Teacher, Intel Teach Master Teacher and Thinkfinity Field Trainer. Her certifications include Educational Technology Specialist K-12, NYS Elementary and Students with Disabilities Professional Certification N-6 and B-2.

Debbie Costello, Educational Technology Specialist

Debbie Costello has been involved in 21st Century learning environments for over a decade. Her passion is helping educators integrate technology and curriculum She has served as member of a research and development team testing new technologies. Debbie was also key in the integration of Interactive Whiteboards within classrooms throughout New York State. She has served as an adjunct for NYIT and holds a B.S. in Early Childhood/Elementary Education, a B.A. in Sociology and an M.A. in Instructional Technology from Queens College.  

 

Shetal Shah, Educational Technology Consultant

Shetal Shah has been an educator and a media artist for the past 15 years.  She received her BS in Biology and Philosophy from Tufts University and her MA in Media and Technology in Education from Columbia University.  She has been a museum educator and community outreach liaison. Over the past 15 years, Shetal has worked with diverse audiences ranging from Kindergarten to adults, in both US and international settings.  She has been a guest Professor at The Dayalbagh Educational Institute's Graduate School of Education in Agra, India.  As a media artist, Shetal has been involved as director, writer, TV host, actor, filmmaker and performance poet on many notable projects, having performed most recently for Lincoln Center's La Casita series.

 

Julie Haring, Educational Technology Specialist / Graphic Design Consultant

Julie has worked as a digital artist, animator, & multimedia designer on diverse projects in video production, medical simulation, educational and corporate training and events. She enjoys discovering new ways to use technology, art and animation in teaching and learning. Currently involved in an alternative education program focused on creating STEM environments in a virtual world, she is passionate about bringing learning to life! She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Cooper Union, a Masters in Communication Arts/Computer Graphics from NYIT and a Masters of Science/Technology in Education, from Long Island University.
